I have always been your guardian angel,
loyal to you.
I was your family’s shadow
your children’s companion.
I never asked for rewards
I wished for a good word and a pat
but welcomed your kick , instead.
I never complained.
I was content with what you gave me
yet, you were not.
You mowed down my mate, remorselessly
just as that.
Do you see him?
His lifeless body lies
on the asphalted road.
“Thank God, it was only a dog!”, you said.
Why Man?? Why??
